Founded as a union electrical contractor and incorporated in 1955, Hydra served the Chicagoland area, electrifying endless schools, hydroelectric plants and other public works projects. In 1977 Hydra reinvented itself and became one of Chicago’s leading general contractors and industrial developers. By 2008, Hydra had constructed and sold over 1.7 million square feet of industrial space, all in the Chicago area.
